Bearsden Ski Club
One of Scotland’s top dry-slopes for skiing and snowboarding and host to Britains best artificial freestyle slope. The club is run by its members and maintains their personal values at its core. It was therefore important to ensure these values were maintained through their marketing communications.
The Problem: Due to a tough economy in the snow sports industry, people have been cutting back on spending money on skiing and family memberships while also being short on time.
The Solution: Our work included creating a marketing proposal that was affordable for Bearsden Ski Club when budgets were tight. Utilising social media as a form of communication to remind people about the joys and benefits of skiing. Updating the website was also vital to make it more user friendly and encourage customers to follow through to complete purchases of online lessons.
Britain’s largest ski and snowboard care product manufacturer. Started in the snowy highlands of Scotland, this brand has been passed on from family to family and is now looking to expand internationally.
The Problem: Growing in a competitive market against stronger, more established brands is always tough. On top of that DataWax also wanted to communicate the benefits of waxing and servicing snow sports equipment for better performance.
The Solution: Sapphire Mountain worked to produce a snow sports marketing communications strategy filled with a range of ideas and tactics that DataWax could pick and choose from. Firstly we created brand guidelines to improve the consistency of the brand image and communications. We then created on site branding at their local dry-slope to increase brand awareness and exposure. This was followed up by using leaflets to promote the company (and the benefits of waxing) and these were inserted into a new product range of servicing kits. The marketing communications were continued through print advertising in industry magazines, which helped improve brand awareness. Finally Sapphire Mountain integrated social media to create two way communications and lasting relationships with the DataWax audience.
The British Alpine Ski School
Based in the largest ski areas in the French Alps, BASS is a team of British instructors that are passionate about snow sports and teaching clients how to improve their skiing.
The Problem: Due to a lack of consistency with their Social Media, BASS wanted to improve what they were posting, how often it was posted and the quality of their snow sports marketing communications.
The Solution: Sapphire Mountain created weekly snow and resort report videos to put a fun and friendly face to the brand. The addition of Instagram as a form of marketing communications enhanced their social media output and helped encourage brand exposure through the use of great imagery where their brand and logo could be shared to new audiences.
